Sincerely,
Awkwardly Quiet, who are:

Andreas Södermark (SWE) is an improviser and teacher of physical theatre. After a decade of improvising in Sweden he travelled to Chicago and trained extensively at iO, The Annoyance and The Second City, where he performed regularly with the weekly faculty jam. While in Chicago he also connected with Paola Coletto, protégé of Jacques Lecoq and director of The School For Theatre Creators. He completed their two year training programme as well as the individualised pedagogical third year of this movement oriented approach.

Lizzy Mace (UK) is an actor and teacher focusing on comedy and improv performance. She trained in acting at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, and in improv and sketch writing at The Second City, Chicago. She has performed at IMPRO Amsterdam, The Sweden International Improv Festival, ImproFestUK and the Edinburgh, Adelaide and Brighton Fringes. Lizzy had her first taste of improv as a teenager at Saturday Drama Factory classes in Lancaster and is delighted to be back!

Andreas and Lizzy met in Chicago at The Second City in 2013, and are now teaching and performing together internationally.

Drawing on 30 years’ combined experience of improvised performance, they invite participants to connect more to their physical and emotional selves to rediscover a sense of freedom and playfulness. This allows more awareness of oneself and one’s surroundings, empowering each player to be an independent, co-creative performer.

“True improv is an art and Mace and Södermark are Da Vincis at it.”
