Acting skills are essential for improv. Good acting reveals our humanity, vulnerability and courage. It’s honest and universal. And connecting to that essential truth generates the funniest moments.

By the end of this intense and immersive 2 day workshop you will have a better understanding of how to take off the training wheels of improvised comedy ‘rules’ and allow a deeper, truer and funnier You to shine on stage.

Using principles based on Sanford Meisner’s work with actors and inspired by the iO approach to improv, Charm&Strange invites you on a journey to the inner realm of comedy.

Charm&Strange helps you connect to you. Using your authentic feeling in the moment to inspire the imaginary circumstances you are playing in is the secret sauce for improvised comedy. Be a better, more effective listener, be more open and alive on stage, find ever more joy, be ever more present with yourself and your team.

Participants will get lots of stage time and practice as well as plenty of feedback.

Experienced performers will get to come back to the joy that inspired them as artists in the first place and people with less experience will find their improv skills are deeper and better than they ever imagined.
